What happens with my waste after it is sent for recycling? Follow
Once the parcels are checked in at our warehouse, the contents are checked for compliance based on the accepted waste intended to be collected for that programme. The parcels are weighed to record how much waste has been and then the waste is sorted into bulk bags ready for processing.
The waste collected is then typically shredded, washed, melted and transformed into plastic flakes or pellets which are then turned into recycled products such as outdoor furniture. Take a look at our behind the scenes video which explains the recycling process here.
We also work with brands like Head & Shoulders to create exciting products such as the world’s first shampoo bottle made with ocean plastics collected by clean-up organisations around the world.
